Error saving Cmap

Post by ernestpratsg » Thu Dec 11, 2014 12:57 pm

Hello,
When you save a Cmap get this error:
"Asked to perform action [Save] on Cmap in DIV [editor-1NK2DJ9D1-DLTR0V-1ROL]"
The information has been lost.
I think the problem has been when pressing the back button of the browser.
Browser: Google Chrome Version 39.0.2171.71 (64-bit)
OS X 10.10.1. Yosemite
I've seen other errors with Google Chrome, as failing to create folders.
Regards,

Ernest Prats

Hi Ernest,

Could you provide us with the step by step instructions to replicate the error. Do you have the issue with the same Cmap all the time, or with all Cmaps? I've attempted to replicate the issue but could not.

When you try to leave the page with unsaved changes a message pops up indicating there are unsaved changes and asking whether you want to leave the page. Neither by canceling then saving, or leaving without saving did I get the error you described. Is it possible for you to share the Cmap that had issues with being saved?

Thanks,
Ron

Hello,
I have had the same error. I got the confirmation message the OP was shown when I clicked "save". I did not receive a message suggesting that I save when I changed pages and the Cmap was lost. I had not used the "back" button while working on the Cmap.

I am also using Chrome, on Chrome OS. Version 40.0.2214.93 (64-bit).

The Cmap was originally created in the Cloud version, and I was editing it in the Cloud version.

Is there any way to recover the Cmap information that was lost?

Thank you.

Hello again. In case it offers more helpful information, I wanted to share this as follow-up. I was just working on the same Cmap again and got this error message when I hit "save":

Failed to save cmap.
Error while saving a cmap. URL was https://cmapscloud.ihmc.us:443/id=1NQY5 ... -2MCY3/Adv. Theories Group Project.cmap?sid=1MHZH5RK6-2C8DRLF-1

Stephani,
Has the problem been with one single Cmap or with all Cmaps you've tried to save?

The one I had trouble with is called "Adv. Theories Group Project"

I've only been using Cmaps since yesterday and have made two so far. The other hasn't had trouble at this point.

Stephani,

Can you open use the option "Export to CXL" and send me the Cmap that is giving problems, or is it an issue because you are using a Chromebook that you can't download a file? You have my email address.

I just wanted to let you know the same error happened again. I have a new Cmap, which I successfully saved (the first attempted save for that Cmap). Within minutes I went to save new info (the second save attempt) and got this message:

Asked to perform action [Save] on Cmap in DIV

Sure thing! I just wanted to give you the info in case it would help. :) I can refrain from posting more on the same issue unless you contact me for more.
