This may contradict the philosophy of Cmap somewhat: One should be able to drag and drop resources (and links/PDFs/etc. from the desktop/file manager) directly on to the map triggering the creation of a concept on the fly - sort of like a canvas mock-up. One would thereby "bypass" formal concept creation (at first).
Why would one want to do all of that? Say one is researching literature for a paper. It would be great to have a visualized repository of how articles, links, notes, etc. "link" together. This is somewhat in line with what the Tufts "Visual Understanding Environment" was (is) trying to do (http://vue.tufts.edu/); Cmap is simply the much more advanced tool that "could" do the same!

Good idea.... would work well (except for images which are added as a background).
