Drag and drop

Have new ideas for the next release of IHMC CmapTools and IHMC CmapServer?
We welcome your suggestions and we will carefully consider whether to incorporate them into the software.

Drag and drop

Post by skreisel »

This may contradict the philosophy of Cmap somewhat: One should be able to drag and drop resources (and links/PDFs/etc. from the desktop/file manager) directly on to the map triggering the creation of a concept on the fly - sort of like a canvas mock-up. One would thereby "bypass" formal concept creation (at first).
Why would one want to do all of that? Say one is researching literature for a paper. It would be great to have a visualized repository of how articles, links, notes, etc. "link" together. This is somewhat in line with what the Tufts "Visual Understanding Environment" was (is) trying to do (http://vue.tufts.edu/); Cmap is simply the much more advanced tool that "could" do the same!

Good idea.... would work well (except for images which are added as a background).
