Solaris x86 version of CmapTools needed

Have new ideas for the next release of IHMC CmapTools and IHMC CmapServer?
We welcome your suggestions and we will carefully consider whether to incorporate them into the software.

Solaris x86 version of CmapTools needed

Post by mnsingh »

Hi,
In the past (4.x version), I was asked to use the Linux version to derive a Solaris version. That worked because CmapTools was
all Java at that time. However, with the 5.03 release, some binaries (imgman?) seem to have been introduced in CmapTools, a
linux version of which obviously won't run on *Solaris. So, can we please get an x86 build of CmapTools too? This is much more
important now that OpenSolaris 2009.06, the latest release of Solaris is x86 only.

Thanks

@mnsingh:

At this time we don't have a Solaris x86 available, because we have some issues with the "imgman" libraries. We use "imgman" to generate thumbnails.

I will give you a workaround. Change to the "IHMC_CmapTools/bin" directory and rename (or delete) the " imgman" file. It will force CmapTools to use generic Java libraries to generate the thumbnails. I haven't tried out yet, but knowing the logic of the program I think it works.

Please let me know how it goes.
