Rules for Cmaps (Use of Arrowheads)

Post by psquire »

This is a troubleshooting issue per say. Rather, I am looking for rules and guidelines by which you determine what arrows to use. Is there any sort of standard or convention that stipulates when you use arrows or when you don't in Concept Maps. For example, in cmaps the default appears to be without arrows, but if you don't have any arrows what is the associated linkage?

There are no rules and guidelines regarding rules. Its a matter of preference. Some people like to use them all the time. The convention is that concept maps are read by default from top to bottom. If there can be ambiguity or a proposition can be misread, then definitely use arrows.
