I'm trying to make it so that when a user opens their 'Places' for the first time, or really any time, they see our districts CmapServer. I've edited the places.txt and it doesn't seem to change what a users sees upon logging in and going to Places in Views. Is there some cache or something that needs to be cleared? I made this work last school year by editing places.txt with 5.03 and just installed 5.04 and tried to make it work but have spent a few hours experimenting and to no luck.

This hasn't changed from v5.03 to v5.04. Did you install "over" the v5.03 installation or did you make a separate installation? Try removing the "servers.xml" file, it contains the cache of servers. For some reason you may have removed the server and that file may have it tagged.
