Re-draw issues on Views window

I've noticed since version 6 there have been occasional issues on Ubuntu (running 12.04) with redrawing the Views window. Sometimes a small black rectangle will appear on the window Note the small white rectangle in the middle of the black space--just like this but the colors reversed!

This is not a deal-breaker but does discourage adults who know nothing about cmaptools on ubuntu to question it's quality.

Thanks,
David

David, we presume you are using the latest version, which uses Java 7.

hmmm... I did just do an advanced--yet with mostly default choices--install of CmapTools. Does CmapTools uses system version of java now?

Here's the response to: java -version
java version "1.6.0_35"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.13.7) (6b35-1.13.7-1ubuntu0.12.04.2)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)

java -version shows the system version, the default invoked if you run java. CmapTools installs its own version of Java 7 separately.

It's hard to capture the randomly appearing and disappearing black rectangles, but here's a different random artifact that I did:

This is on Ubuntu 18.04 and CmapTools 6.0.3
