Can only the author share a folder or CMap? Doesn't the administrator permissions allow sharing of folders?

Yes, Administrator permissions allow sharing. But make sure you are sharing a folder, not an alias or shortcut to the folder. If you have an alias or shortcut, create a folder inside it and share that new folder. This will be fixed soon.

Thank you for your response. We are using CMap Cloud and only the author is allowed to share the folder (not an alias or shortcut). Are there particular steps that we need to do in order to share the folder with someone else as an administrator but not an author of the folder?

Right-click on the folder, select Share, and make sure the user has Administrator permissions. But sharing with that user creates a shortcut in the Home Folder, and so they can't share that shortcut. They need to create a new folder within the shared folder and share that new folder.

We tried this and we can see the Share option now, however, an error msg comes up saying that the folder can not be shared. Is there anything else we can try? The fix will be very helpful to our school.

Send an email to cmapsupport@ihmc.us with your email address for Cmap Cloud and the folder you want to share. We'll look at it. If possible, send the emails of those you want to share it with. We'll make sure it works for you.
