server 5.04.02 and OSX Lion 10.7.4

Post by salustri »

Hi,

I have cmapserver 5.04.02. It was running fine on OSX Snow Leopard.
I just upgraded to Lion (10.7.4) this morning, and cmapserver won't start.
I installed java runtime through OSX Software Update.

When I try to start cmapserver by double-clicking on the CmapServer icon in the IHMC CmapServer folder (in Applications),
the following messages appear in my systems log:
Jul 24 14:23:43 deseng [0x0-0xf50f5].CmapServer[10548]: InstallAnywhereSupport enabled
Jul 24 14:23:43 deseng com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[140] ([0x0-0xf50f5].CmapServer[10548]): Exited with code: 1
Can someone please help me figure out what's wrong?

Are you running it with root permissions? My guess is you are, since it used to run under Snow Leopard.

Can you please send us the resulting log file? It would be under the logs folder.

You could reinstall. Other than memory settings, nothing would be modified. You might as well install the latest version, or the beta for 5.05 available at ftp://ftp.ihmc.us. This beta is very stable and fixes a lot of the bugs reported in the forum.

We have 6 production CmapServers at IHMC running under Lion without problems.

Nuts. It didn't start when I booted the machine because java was missing.
After I installed java, I kept trying to start it as me (i.e. not root).

I'm an idiot. It's running now. Thanks for your patience.

You may want to install the Beta anyway, it fixes many bugs.
