Special characters not possible

Post by mrjerz »

Hi,

I am not able to type any special characters inside the nodes, nor relations.
This means, i cannot type letters as @, {, }, |, [, ].
It is possible, to copy them from another document (e.g. TextEdit) and paste them into the node.
The behaviour is the same in all Cmaps.

I believe it might be a matter of my language preferences, or keyboard layout mapping issue.
I can find entries as below one in my Cmap Log file:

Code: Select all

***>>I18N Warning: The language has not been loaded.
I18NHelper :: setLocale (  )
>>----Language Information-----<<

_currentLanguage:
_currentRegion:
_currentLocale:
_systemLanguage: en
_systemRegion:
I use CmapTools 6.03 on Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.3
I am using a German (Austrian) keyboard layout.
My System Language is English.
I have 8GB or RAM

Is there a possibility to fix that?
Thx a lot and BR!

Strange, CmapTools is used in dozens of languages. What happens if you change your keyboard to be a standard US (English) Keyboard?

I don't seem to experience any trouble with the Standard US keyboard.

What might also be interesting is that on the German (Austrian) Keyboard, all characters @, |, {, }, [, ] have in common that they use the Alt key modifier.

@ ... Alt + L
[ ... Alt + 5
] ... Alt + 6
| ... Alt + 7
{ ... Alt + 8
} ... Alt + 9

Interestingly other keys using the Alt Modifier seem to work.

Interesting.

May be a problem with the way shortcuts are being handled.

Do you think something on my side or your side should be fixed?
