Hi everyone,
I’m having trouble with my concept map layouts not saving properly in CmapTools. Every time I reopen a saved map, the layout seems to reset, and I lose all the adjustments I made to the positioning of the nodes and connections. It’s really frustrating because I spend a lot of time organizing everything, and it doesn’t seem to stick.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a specific setting I need to enable or a workaround to make sure the layout stays as I left it? I’m using the latest version of CmapTools on Windows 10.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Issues with Concept Map Layouts Not Saving Properly
Hi, No Internet Game
I understand how frustrating it can be to encounter this issue, especially if you have spent a lot of time meticulously arranging your concept map layout.
Here are some solutions you can try to fix the problem:
Check your autosave options: Make sure that autosave does not overwrite your layout. In CmapTools, you can check and adjust this option in the "Preferences" or "Options" section.
Use 'Save As': Instead of just clicking "Save," try using "Save As" and save the map under a new file name or in a different location. This sometimes helps overwrite unwanted settings.
Make sure changes are saved before closing: After arranging your layout, make sure you click "Save" and wait a moment before closing CmapTools, to ensure that all changes are saved properly.
Update your software: Make sure you are using the latest version of CmapTools. Sometimes bugs like this can be fixed in software updates.
Try saving as a different format: If possible, try saving your concept map as a different format, such as PDF or image, to ensure the layout doesn't change when you reopen it.
Clear cache and temporary files: Temporary or cache files can cause problems with saving. Try deleting them or checking to see if any of them are corrupted.
If none of the above solutions work, you may consider contacting CmapTools technical support or checking the community forum to see if other users have encountered the same problem and found a solution.
Hopefully one of the above solutions will help you resolve the issue. Good luck!
Thanks and good luck!
