Server Protocol Spec

Have new ideas for the next release of IHMC CmapTools and IHMC CmapServer?
We welcome your suggestions and we will carefully consider whether to incorporate them into the software.

Server Protocol Spec

Post by A.Schoeller »

Hi Cmappers,

this refers to former requests for iPad & Android versions of the Cmap-client. I'd like to add a request for a HTML/Javascript-Client :D . I assume that in the event of a public protocol-spec, that describes the interaction between Cmap-Client/-Server, that preferably uses JSON- or XML-formated messages, it will be a matter of months, probably weeks, until new front-ends for Cmap-Server could show up. Maybe JavaFX first, than a Web-frontend and native Mac/Win/*nix-Versions would follow later.
As a nice example what can be done in HTML these days  Conceptboard https://conceptboard.com/board/trt9-62ze-9xbm-ihu2-p31x

There are 2 public protocols available. The older one is described at http://cmap.ihmc.us/xml/. A newer protocol, http-based, will be published soon, but have shared it with those interested.

A preliminary web-based version of the editor has not been completed because of lack of funding.
