1. The bundled JRE was detected as Sun Java JRE 1.5.x / 5.x, version 5.0.170.4 as INSECURE.
.. There is a patch available jre-1_5_0_21-windows-i586-p.exe for my machine, but I am reluctant to use it to continue to try CmapTools 5.03 out because of the issues reported by others with non 5.0.170.4 Java versions, but I should patch it because of the security issue.

2. This version of Java is nearly obsolete, in a "supported by the vendor" sense. Sun says:
Java SE 5.0 is in its Java Technology End of Life (EOL) transition period. The EOL transition period began April 8th, 2007 and will complete October 8th, 2009, when Java SE 5.0 will have reached its End of Service Life (EOSL). . .
Is IHMC going to buy the Java SE continuation license?
What should I do about the insecure version of Java?
The why's of my concern are from Secunia Personal Software Inspector ver 1.5.0.1
This installation of Sun Java JRE 1.5.x / 5.x is insecure and potentially exposes your system to security threats!
Secunia strongly recommends that you update this program by installing the update that is provided by the vendor of this program.
Installation Path C:\Tools\IHMC_CMap_Tools\jre\bin\java.exe
