Export map as text with a Mac

Post by MLB »

Hi,
My students using Mac are not able to export their map as .txt
When they click on <export as text file>, no .txt file is created, even if they received a notification that it's done.
Is there something to do to help them?
Thanks!

It seems like the option on the side panel to export as txt is not working. Have them select the Menu option "File->Export Cmap As -> Propositions as Text. That seems to work. We'll look into why the side panel option is not working.

Hmmm... we went back and tried the side panel option and it does seem to work. Are they using a Lab computer where CmapTools may not have permissions to write in the directory? Or maybe they have not given CmapTools permissions to write in the particular folder where its trying to export. On Macs you need to give CmapTools permissions in Systems Preferences Panel, under Security & Privacy, then the Privacy tab. You can give Full Disk Access or select the Files and Folders when CmapTools can write. Note that being a Java App, there are two enries in the list, CmapTools.app and CmapTools, that need to have permissions.
